Training

Unlike my diet which has several interchangeable titles, my training regime is hard to sum up in one or even a few words.  It is a form of HIT (High Intensity Training) which uses extremely heavy weights, slow reps, a single set of each exercise and at least a week recovery between workouts.  I have tried to discuss each aspect below, but if you really want the lowdown then read "Body by Science" by McGuff and Little.

I started this exercise regime in October 2012 (4 months to date), slightly disbelieving the claims but willing to try anything which could improve my fitness without having to increase my training times any more.  I moved from a "mixed weights and cardio" regime which took arount 90 minutes to 2 hours a day, 6 days a week, to doing around 20 minutes once a week.  I have seen no significant plateau in performance yet and have felt a lot stronger and safer than I have ever felt before.
