Diet

I follow what is known as a palaeolithic diet, essentially a diet as close to that which we were designed for and cutting out as much processed food as possible (palaeolithic refers to the "Stone Age").  Unfortunately the food and fitness industries have a vested interest in ensuring that any diet which does not allow processed food or require calorie counting and cardiovascular training is marginalised as a fad or dangerous, so it is difficult to find reliable, well researched sources of information.  I recommend you read "Why We Get Fat, And What To Do About It" by Gary Taubes.

Some may have differing views about how strictly you need to restrict yourself from eating any other foods and a lot more will say that a palaeolithic diet is harmful.  If you have experience of similar diet/lifestyles you would like to share, or are interested in trying something different (which WILL help you MAINTAIN your ideal weight, unlike all the fad diets out there) please give me a shout.

I am not a dietician, I'm not even a "nutritionist" (i.e. a medically unqualified charlatan), I am simply someone who practices what I preach and would like to let others know why and how it works.  Combined with my training regime I am the fittest and healthiest I have ever been despite approaching my 40's and still improving unlike everyone else I know!
